Neem Karoli Baba
Vaishnava-bhakti · Kainchi · The Nectar of Love · WOM-0207
He who reduced the whole path to three words: love everyone, serve everyone, remember God.
The essence of the teaching: The whole spiritual path fits into three simple acts: love each one as God, serve everyone as kin, and remember the Divine without ceasing – and the ego dissolves through love, not through the effort of will.
Transmission
Neem Karoli Baba gave no complex philosophy – it was not needed. Treat everyone you meet as your own mother, he said, with the same reverence and love. The one who has wounded you – do not cast him out of your heart, but send him love: this is the strongest weapon against anger. Service to the poor and the suffering is not charity, but a recognition of the one God in all. The true guru is not a body outside, but an inner presence; the outer saint only plants the seed of remembrance. And meditation is not done by effort – you enter it of itself, when you love.
