Annamalai Swami
A direct disciple of Ramana · Final Talks
The one who served Ramana with his body for years and carried his instruction to its utmost simplicity.
The essence of the teaching: The power of illusion – maya – creates a false sense of reality. Do not investigate the origin of the illusion – simply stop feeding it with attention and hold to the "I am."
Transmission
Annamalai Swami built Ramana's ashram with his own hands for years, and the teaching entered him through labor and devotion. His counsel was utterly simple: do not argue with thoughts and do not study maya – you will only strengthen it. Keep attention on the feeling "I" and let everything else go. Peace and power, Shanti and Shakti, are two faces of one consciousness. Remain the one who knows the thoughts, not the one the thoughts are trying to make of you.
The full transmission — for members of the School. Here is its essence and its taste.
